I'm a user experience designer who makes branding and marketing reachable to all people by ensuring designs meet accessibility guidelines for users with a variety of neuro and sensory disabilities. I believe that accessibility to all users is an unimpeachable requirement behind all good design.
I have worked at providing equitable access to people with disabilities since earning a college degree in human development, pursuing special education as an early career. After years of working with autistic and deaf/hard of hearing children, I became disabled myself. It took seven years but I recovered, and in that time developed new professional skills. Currently I am dedicated to finding a company or organization who sees the value in building bridges with the disabled community.
I am trained in UX and UI design, using tools like Figma, Pixlr, Sketch, and OpenAI. I have a degree in Child and Adolescent Development from San Jose State University in California, a certification in shiatsu and bodywork, and have extensively studied the Americans with Disabilities Act.
When I am not learning new web design tools, I am hiking with my dogs in the Mojave Desert, reading, or tutoring family and friends in American Sign Language.
